My name is Emily. I'm a Registered Dietitian with a Masters in Nutrition & Genetics from St. Mary's University, and I work full-time as a fitness and dietetics coach at Method Fitness. I have a passion for helping others optimize their nutrition, fitness, and overall wellbeing.

My Background
Working in medical nutrition therapy and specializing in disordered eating has taught me a crucial lesson: nutrition doesn't have to be complicated. While my formal education gave me the scientific foundation, my hands on experience in the gym working with clients has shown me what really works. I've helped hundreds of athletes and fitness enthusiasts optimize their nutrition for peak performance and sustainable results.
Beautiful mountains and lakes can be a great supplement, too :)
My Approach
As a dietitian, I believe that all foods can be part of a healthy diet. My nutrition philosophy focuses on reducing stress and guilt around food choices while helping clients become confident in their decisions. When it comes to supplements like protein powder, I emphasize choosing products that are clean, scientifically-backed, and made with real food ingredients.
Why Clean Protein Matters
In today’s supplement market, it’s easy to get caught up in fancy marketing terms like “clean” and “natural.” But what do those terms actually mean? Through my research, I want to shed light on the ingredients that truly make a protein powder “clean,” and which ones to avoid. This is my own attempt to define a murky topic. I want to help you make informed choices that support your health and fitness goals. Whether you’re an athlete looking to optimize recovery or someone just wanting to boost your daily nutrition, you can trust that the information you find here is backed by thorough research and a genuine passion for health.
Thanks for reading!

Hey there!

My name is Alvaro and I am active and on my feet a LOT. As an entrepreneur and consultant I'm always on the move.

Ever since, I was little my family (especially my mother) always stressed the importance of looking the part and representing yourself well professionally. As a result, looking sharp and finding clothing that not only looks great, but feels great has been something I love spending time on.

Over the last ten years as athleisure has become more popular it's been incredible to watch men's fashion get influenced by that particular bug as well. Traditionally, suits, dress shirts, blazers and anything that is usually more "formal" has come at the expense of comfort.

Me and my wife at an event

For example, SuitSupply has become my go to brand for all things suits, blazers, and pants. They have a modern look with a comfortable and athletic feel. I've got a different playbook for dress shirts (which I will share soon, stay tuned!), but one item in particular that had eluded me for a while was dress shoes. To be honest, I have a ton of shoes, but most of them leaned too heavily into the style category and not enough into comfort. I'd often get blisters and over time my feet would just hurt.

Recently, I decided to go deep into the world of dress shoes and see if I could find something that both looked and felt great. I spent several days researching and testing different types of dress shoes. I even went to all of the stores myself so I could get first hand experience with tons of different pairs.

I'm proud to say that my research was rewarded and I came out with some pretty sweet Amberjack "Originals". I absolutely love them. I decided to compile what I learned and share it more broadly because I know other people have the same goal - to find something that looks great and feels great that they can wear in both formal and more casual settings.

Big fan of black tie

I hope this research is helpful to you and shortcuts the process. After doing a lot of research myself I learned that many people like myself have similar questions. I hope this helps!

To your style and comfort,
Alvaro
